Forums - Gaming - Why can't people see that delayed games is a good thing!!!!!!!!

a delayed game has a chance of being good, a bad game is bad forever.

I think that companies put out fake release dates to help keep hype and hope of a game alive. Does anyone remember when PS3 was going to come out in March of 06(maybe 07) and they kept saying it was going to be that date until February? I have not paid that much attention to PS3 games(I do not have one). It feels like 75% of 360 games get delayed (Mass Effect, Too Human, Dark Sector come to mind immediatley). I honestly it as all about using unrealistic dates to keep the name of the game fresh in gamers minds while the game is working toward a realistic release date.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I actually agree with you. If a cames crappy, then its crappy. If it comes out late then it could be amazing.

I will admit that I'm very pissed off at haze going from Dec. 4 to March though. (that is, until its delayed again)

So all in all its not a bad thing if its delayed.

If Killzone 2 is delayed, thats fine as long as its as amazing as i think it will be. If its rushed and it turns out bad cause it was rushed, i'd be really pissed.

Making a game better is all fine and dandy, but don't delays really just mean that the development team was incapable of making the game as good as it'll eventually be on time?

I'm not even going to get started on European delays. -_-

If delays are a good thing, Duke Nukem Forever is going to be one of the greatest games ever.

See my sig.

That may be the case for some, or most, games. But not all. SSBB is being delayed because the dev wants it to be the best it can be, and for it to last for years to come. And it shall be awesome ^^

True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.

A delay means someone messed up.  Pure and simple.  Whether it's on the development side or on the marketing/planning side, someone messed up.

If someone says that it's a good thing because they're making the game better, they should get a boot to the head for not thinking straight.  If the developers were going to need that time to make the game better, it should have been factored into the initial release date rather than resulting in a delay.

My feelings about delays are on a game by game basis. Depending on if I think the games needs more work. But more often than not i'm annoyed by them.

Delays are only bad/annoying when they are..
a) .. Duke Nukem Fornever-esque
b) .. region specific
