Naughty Dog may have told gamers that they weren’t sure what they’d do now that the Uncharted trilogy has come to an end, but a recent job listing suggests that the renowned developer is already hard at work on their next game.

Posted today on LinkedIn, the new job listing for a Game Designer explains what the position will entail:

Responsible for designing and producing engaging and fun third-person action gameplay and levels

Candidates also need to have “experience playing 3rd person action games”.

Additionally, it’s clear the listing isn’t simply for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception DLC, as the designer will be working on singleplayer levels, and Naughty Dog have specifically announced that there won’t be singleplayer DLC:

Responsible for the planning, levellayout, setup and tuning of single-player levels, from high concept to object placement and scripting

The fact that it specifies “third-person action” could mean a new Uncharted, a new IP, or even possibly a new Jak & Daxter. However, exactly 465 days ago, Naughty Dog had a job listing for a game with “fun third-person action gameplay”, and we all know how that turned out, so that does seem to suggest the game could be Uncharted 4.

As one, if not the, best third-person action developers, it’s great to hear that Naughty Dog won’t abandon the game, but it is a shame that there probably won’t be an Uncharted racing game.

I hope their first game on PS4 is NOT Uncharted but a new IP but their second game on it definitely should be Uncharted. and the team needs to expand to handle multiple projects. But no matter what they bring it's gonna be excellent

I'm sure it's Naughty Dog's rumoured new IP, they tend to keep up with their tradition of a brand new IP per generation.

They should make a massive sprawling fantasy-adventure game. That's what they should do. I bet they'd be able to make the best game ever

Would love to see a Next gen Uncharted considering how stunning Uncharted 3 is on 5 year old hardware.

your all insane it's uncharted why would naughty dog stop making a a critically aclaimed game loved by every reviewer and sells over 5m each game your all nuts! plus naughty dog has even said they will make uncharted 4 if the fans want it

Uncharted 4 on the PS4, will be the first HUGE game by Naughty Dog.

They have been making games (from what I have read) with quite a reduced number of people actually working on the game (compared to other huge teams). Next gen consoles will demand more man power, bigger teams, and overall bigger development times to take full advantage of the hardware.

People are crazy if they think that Uncharted (developed by Naughty dog) will not be a releasing game of the PS4.

but U5 will ;)

I would like a kart game from Naughty Dog ( someone siad in another thread unkarted lol) That would be great because there is no mario kart like on pS3.
