Forums - Sony - Some guy on some site: Playstation Vita is The Game Boy of This Generation of Portable Consoles

Wow. My memories of owning a Gameboy was nothing like that. Every now and then I would get into a Tetris tournament on the school bus (no competition!) but that was it. Nobody could even see what was going on on that shitty screen except for the person playing. So I guess that means that the 3DS is the Gameboy of this generation. The PSV can be the Walkman of the 21st Century or something.

A lot of those features would be awesome if I didn't already own a cell phone, though.

Actually, at the rate both eat battery life, I guess you could say both the Vita and the 3DS are the Gamegear of this generation

Someone forgets what the Game Boy was, and what the Game Boy was up against in terms of comparative technology. Vita is in no way, shape, or form a Game Boy

Granted if they're talking about becoming a highly ubiquitous handheld that becomes synonymous with handhelds, but even then it might be easier to draw comparisons to the PS2...
