Regarding the Wii, Pachter says, "I was way too low on Wii [in 2007], with a forecast of 6.4 million this year. That will end up being the number, but only because Nintendo was so supply constrained. Had they shipped enough units, the number may have been as high as 9 or 10 million. "My estimate for 2008 is 8 million, so sequentially the Wii will show growth and will be the number one console. Had the Wii been in ample supply in 2007, the numbers would likely have shown a decline in 2008, but alas, that was not the case, so we'll never know." |
Another fun prediction:
So 360 sales will stay constant, Wii sales will increase by about 20%... and PS3 sales will DOUBLE?! Uh, sure, good luck with that one, Michael.
End of 2008 totals: Wii 42m, 360 24m, PS3 18.5m (made Jan. 4, 2008)
