Forums - Gaming - Best Videogame Song you've heard this year?

Rules:

1. Game must have been released this year

2. One song, only one.

I know, it just came out, but this is just so freaking EPIC!

This took me completely by surprise...

So much emotion is captured in this, and the music continues to build and build upon itself all the way through. It is the kind of music that could really move you ... that is if it was not the theme to a lame dime a dozen shooter franchise. I enjoy it in its own right though even if the game it was placed in was not worthy of this remarkable score. I pretty much had the same reaction when I first heard this that I have whenever I play a Halo game, "why is all of this great music being wasted on a lousy shooter?"

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned any Xenoblade Chronicles stuff yet.  Below are 3 of my favourites:

So relaxing, fits the stage perfectly

Original composition or not? I think Catherine's soundtrack is miles ahead of most thing video game related, but its all re-masterise classical piece by Meguro.

If we are talking about original composition I would go with opening song of Terror of stratus:

Xenoblade soundtrack is quite good too. The one posted from Layton is also.

Tie between these three songs. The soundtrack for that game is ridiculous.

Seriously just go listen to the soundtrack.

I wouldn't say the best, but the first thing that comes to mind is the Portal 2 Soundtrack.

My kids playing the newly released Zelda Four Swords 20th Anniversary Edition just about made me weep. Love classic Zelda music. (I don't feel I need to post a youtube for you all to know the tune in your head)

I like how many people in this thread can't count. I also like how they're hopeless wrong, because the best song is clearly this one:
