Yeah, title says it.

Which are the games that didnt get the attention/Rating/Sales they deserved? just name games you consider beeing better than the Money they made, or the ratings they got.

 My picks are;

5. Last Rebellion

4. Dragon Age 2 - Not nearly as epic as Origins (in terms of Size), but it tells a unique tale,  and its finally a game that doesnt follow the typical Bioware Storyprogression. .. for the most part.

3. Star Ocean TLH - One of the few JRPGs that stay totally classic - and actually beeing fun because of it.

2. Valkyria Chronicles - great art design, unique gameplay.

1. Nier - this Epic tale (even though it lacked good gameplay) is worth experiencing. easilly one of the best stories this gen.

(not ordered by how much i liked them, but rather by how their financial success was in comparison with my opinion about the named games. With exception of Number 1, loved it. :P)

PS: There are limitations. Halo for Example is crittically acclaimed, made Craploads of Money, and Fans love it. (i think u get the picture)

I don't think underestimated means what you think it does

I only have played 3 that i think are "underrated"

1. Dead Space 2

2. inFamous 2

3. Resistance 3

My idea of Underestimated differs from yours......

-Arkham Asylum: Nobody expected a Batman game to be good. Then again, nobody thought a human being could beat up Superman. Never doubt Batman, again.

-Forza: Atop the video game racing mountain sits Gran Turismo. Above Gran Turismo sits a young upstart racing franchise called Forza.

-Wii Sports: They laughed when they heard the name "Wii" and saw the visuals of Wii Sports. They aren't laughing anymore.

-Saints Row: There was absolutely no reason for a Grand Theft Auto rip off to succeed this gen. True Crime, The Getaway, Driv3r, and a few others tried and failed to make a name for themselves. Saints Row bucked the trend by being FUN first and foremost. Now, many (like me)and prefer it to the game that inspired it.

Honorable mention to Uncharted, Mortal Kombat (2011), and Dance Central. Game series that had no business being so damned good. They defied my expectations in a good way.

Lost Odyssey

Modern Warfare 2, GTAIV, Gran Turismo 5, Super Mario Galaxy and Gears of War 3

Enslaved and Singularity.

actually, i was on the brink to buy it yesterday, since its only 20$/€ over here.. many people told me already that enslaved is a nice piece of Software, i might pick it up today, since i have 2 days left until skyrim comes.

i agree, i wouldnt say its the definitive masterpiece this gen, but its a beatiful game, and it was motivating as long as it lasted, which means something, since i never really wanted to buy it - but in the end, it was a nice experience, and i dont regret buying it. =]

youve chosen MW3, when i created this thread, this wouldnt have been something i'd have accepted lighthearted, since i was aiming for games that simply didnt get the attention they deserved. MW3 get's the deserved attention (even tho' many people are shit-talking the game on Sites like Metacrittics right now) 

But i thought that it might be nicer to be able not just to name games that were sold poorly, but also games that were hated without reason. (Or Games that were simply ignored by the masses, even if they were worth the attention. - everything's depending on individual opinions here.)

So yeah, youre doing it right. (Even though i think MW3's Meta will go up, once the dood's actually enjoying this game leave their PC/Console to post their opinion about the game.)

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and expecially Dokey Kong Country returns, easily 2 of the best games of the generation both got an 8.5 average score due to anti-Wii bias and also they should have sold more. Also Forza, has been recognized by critics, but it should have sold more, people are too devoted to GT.
