This game seems to be getting 0 press for some reason. But it seems to be a pretty good platforming game( at least the 3ds version). Its been getting great scores in the reviews above. Does anyone plan on buying it?

Spyro died on the PS1.

yes he did, but was revived in 2008 when Dawn of the Dragon released and sold 1.5m (0.5m just on Wii) and now this is going to sell much more!

the last Spyro game (2008)  had a terrible launch, like 55k all platforms combined, but was that great that it had long legs currying it to 1.5 and above, and reviews were around 7.5

i guess there's no chance this one won't enter the charts and stay on for the holidays, welcome back Spyro!!!

Couldn't say it better myself.

Tried it on the ps3 at a games event. I didnt like ... My reasons are that the style used in the game isn't very eye catching and the game doesn't feel engaging at all.

A lot of people seem to be pleasantly surprised with the game, both console versions and the 3DS one.

??? Didn't know spyro the dragon wasn't exclusive to Sony lol, did a quick read and realized it. Sadly this series does not belong on ninty consoles as they are already saturated with their own platformer types like dkc, mario, sonics, spinoffs of each, etc. I do want to see another proper spyro like the ps1 days.

The monster supposedly gets it stats saved onto the toy's chip so you can actually bring your leveled up monster with you and just plop onto the "portal" at your friends home.

Collecting all the toy could be very costly, though.

Those pics on destructiod are actually the consoles versions I think. There is 1 paragraph for 3ds version though,( something about being a platformer rather than a slasher).
