hey everyone :D

im soon going to get a new PS3 as my Launch 60GB is getting slightly old plus i need a bigger HDD as im planing on buying alot of games off the network that i have held of buying due to HDD space. i have put a 120GB HDD into my PS3 before and after 6 months it died and i lost all my game saves and everything!.. this was not a good day.. anyway

im buying a Silver 320GB slim and want to know how do i transfer my saves over? i heard if you transport them over you can carry on playing where you left of BUT you cant collect trophies as its not your original game! 

i have seen that is you sign up to PS+ you can transfer all saves to the cloud and re download them onto a new PS3 and carry on? but again can you continue collecting trophies this way?

are there any other problems or tips you guys could offer?

(p.s. im set on getting the New PS3 so i wont be changing my HDD on the 60GB to a bigger one.. just before anyone suggests it)

To copy saves use a USB drive. Trophies are tied to your PSN account so transferring saves to a new console won't block them out or anything. Sync your trophies before you copy anything to be safe. And I dunno, use blue paint?

Of course if you are keeping your 60GB PS3 also you can just use the system transfer ability and copy EVERYTHING to the new PS3. Installs, demos, DLCs, patches, saves, everything.


yeh i will be at first, so i could just connect to 2? and your sure i can just carry on with the saves and still pick up trophies?

yes as kyliedog says,

i'm getting one of those sillver ones too as my 60gb gave up last week,there was a white PS3 somewhere but i think i'll get a silver one as i can pick it up local,it is the 2 controllers that made me choose this one but the cheaper one with a couple of new games was very temtpting for me but i guess i caved in for a different colour

no they didn't say no when it was out in game,

mmmm i saw the white one as you mentioned,it has 2 controllers too,which do i prefer silver or white.its a toughie

doubt i could afford a blue but at least i can choose black,white or silver
