I shall indeed! In the next major update (tomorrow).
I'm loving all of these awesome scores, well deserved.
...you got the game? Liking it?

The problem is that the Zelda cycle doesn't apply to me. |
We'll see about that in 5 years time when the next Zelda game(s) come out
Also, whilst you may not 'love' the game, you can'd deny it's good, right?
I.E what would you rate it out of 100?

Looks like it's gonna have stablilised around 95 when all is said and done. You think that's about right? I do. |
Well, with a TON of luck it could actually make it to 96.
It actually needs around 95.10-ish to round to 96 due to that Metacritic average.

It's not like I am suddenly going to start loving Phantom Hourglass next year just because it turns five, so don't hold your breath. I am quite sure that I said that SS is good in my "50 things I hate" thread. I think I would rate it in the low 80s, perhaps 82. The tedious parts towards the end drag it down. Now if you adjust this 82 score to the scale the majority of reviewers use, you are looking at a 95 or so. Because nowadays good games are passed off as great, sometimes even as outstanding or exceptional. |
Well, Phantom Hourglass just wasn't very good (in Zelda standards. It was still a great game, though!)
As for your score, the way you were talking felt far more negative, but there you go. Obviously you did like it then. Maybe you were just expecting too much?
Also, score inflation is a real issue, but since everyone's doing it, there's not much you can do about it, unless you scrap all review systems and start over with a uniform system from square one. But I don't see that happening, because it will invalidate all other, current reviews.

I think you're hoping for too much, sadly. The game seems to be splitting the fanbase too much, and ofcourse the fact it's on the Wii seems to be turning off some reviewers, sadly.
Still, you can't say that 95 with all the 10s is anything other than amazing...
Oh Oh... the AusGamer review has been added to the Metacritic database. Good bye, 96% :( I can't believe how much effort Nintendo have to put in a game and make it the most imaginative possible because it's not on PS3 and Xbox360. That's my opinion. Sometimes I just feel like the world wants you to fit into the mould or else you'll be punished...
Sorry, I cranked it up a little. Skyward Sword is indeed my favorite Zelda game and I'll never understand how even the critics use a dated game like Ocarina of Time as a reference nowadays. I mean, the criteras have changed now... The world has evolved. Those who claim the story is simple, let me laugh at you. Was the story in Ocarina of Time really that compelling? Let me doubt about it. With the Demise, the curse, the cycle, the past and present, the reincarnation of the goddess... There's enough stuff here to be considered as a great story!

Well, it is a best case scenario after all. I also think 95 is the most likely.
It needs about 5 more perfect reviews to get to 95.18 which would be enough to boost it to 96.
You know, if you take Excel formulas and apply "What If" scenarios, it is actually very favorable for the game.
EDIT: BLEH!!! With AUSGamers review it goes from hard to impossible :-/
EDIT 2: FK YOU!! AUSGamers, now it is very likely to go down to 94 :-/
I'm at the 5th temple and I adore this game so far :)

I'm impressed it's stabilizing at 95, didn't expect it this high to be honest
Even if it was the freshest Zelda in years, it's still on an graphically inferior console which is a huge turn off for most reviewers even though most would rather not admit it. A lot of games (we all know of them) got highly praised due to their high productions values, graphics and scale... I'm proud of Zelda for achieving this :)

Hey, it won't go down to 94, I believe...
Remember, I was one of very few people who reckoned it'd beat Uncharted 3. Most people predicted a score of around 90, some below (the lowest I saw was 85, the highest was my prediction of 94-97), whilst most predictions for UC3 never even began to comprehend it getting as low as 93. So, by thst merit, SS has done EXTREMELY well, and it definitely deserves the score it gets (apart from the AUSgamer eview, which was terrible).
@Rol- I think you'll find you're in the minority, sadly. Nintendo didn't 'drop' the ball or whatever. It's a great game and, potentially, the best Zelda ever. Plenty of people agree with that. Your opinion =/= fact.
