Turn based RPG's with random battles are fine on handhelds but feel to slow on consoles.

I remember playing FF12 and then going back and playing FFX and I was like "AHHHH!"

The game had a great story to keep me entertained however unlike the current FF games.

Battling, exploration and character growth.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

To the people who value story above all else, would you play a RPG that has a great story, but has subpar gameplay?
