What's your favorite aspect of RPGs?

Turn based RPG's with random battles are fine on handhelds but feel to slow on consoles.

I remember playing FF12 and then going back and playing FFX and I was like "AHHHH!"

The game had a great story to keep me entertained however unlike the current FF games.
