This is a weapon from the upcoming massive video game Halo 4. i found it while researching on Halo 4. enjoy :) Im not posting this saying this is official, i found it and i wanted to share with you. maybe its official but just not announced.

That is a good point. Since this will involve Forerunner/Precursor/Etc it can open up for a lot more new weapons!!

Indeed, that's the first thing I thought when I saw this, Forerunners.

Although, it can't be Precursor tech... well it could, but would be unusable unless they also found the Organon, the object that unlocks Precursor technology... So yeah. It really is pretty intense how in depth the Halo Universe is.

HALO4 is shaping up to be a must buy for fans, and i'll likely be online playing it aswell.

A;lright, I know the game will be set on the Legendary Planet Master Chief was drifting to at the end of Halo 3, but when was it confirmed that that planet DEFINETELY was inhabited by Forerunners? And where did this 'Organon' thing you mentioned come from?
