Favourite series would have to be Harry Potter, but all my true favourite books are not series based

Favourite author overall is Umberto Eco & if his books were a 'series' (which they are not, they are unrelated) then that would be my favourite for sure.

Most of the books I've read aren't part of a series. Out of the 3 book series I've read (Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, and The Millennium), I have to say that His Dark Materials was my favorite.

Well, most of the best books ever written are not part of a series, so I'd expect that would be the case for most people.

The second book was the only one I'd classify as 'boring'. It was quite weaker than the 1st and 3rd. The 1st is my personal favorite.
