It's almost stastically impossible for the Wii to break 20m for the the end of 2007.  With 2 days to report in Others and Japan and only 1 in NA, even going with the best case scenario of sales mirroring last weeks (Which typically doesn't happen right after christmas and with Wii stock being absolutely sold out everywhere and Nintendo probably dipping into January shipments to feed holiday demand) the most the Wii can sell in those days in all regions is 225k.  It's pretty damn close, but it just can't make it, not to say GETTING to 19.X million in 13 months is something to dismiss completely.

The PS3 will definitely sell the 8k+ units in the regions for the last days to break 9 million.  *claps*  It could even come close to 9.1, but that's a huge stretch, I think it'll sit more in lines with 9.05m for end of 07.  I personally expected a lot less considering all the negativity towards Sony, but the Playstation brand is still alive and kicking, and hoping to recover and get back on its feet.

The 360 will probably settle in ending with 16.07, but there's hopes it could hit 16.1, but that's another stretch as well.  It's also looking like the 360 is just staying the course with it's sales over the previous year.  Halo3 certainily jumped sales up a bit and maintained a decent increase year over year compared to last, but the next 3 months are crucial to see if support will still remain strong for the 360.  

All in all, I think this was a great year for gaming, a lot of surprises, and a lot of things still remain to be seen.  How will 08 compare to 07?  That's undecided, but it's safe to say that the PS3 is looking to get back in the race, the 360 is looking forward to increased sales to fight off the rising PS3 and the Wii is looking forward to continue it's dominating path and viral marketing with sell out week after sell out week.

so it all depends on if stores had em for sale that day

also, vgchartz has had to adjust UPWARD for the wii the past month or two, so it could still adjust up to hit that 20mil

It's 80k for PS3 to get to 9 million, not 8k [was it a typo or reading error?]

but yes it should have made it... though we really don't know, I mean which days of the week sell more consoles? probably Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
This week PS3 will probably have got about 200k sales... will 80k have been in the first 2 days?... I am doubtful.

Statistically though yes, PS3 is near enough to call it 9 million.

Last weeks sales ended on Sunday, the last day for NA is a Monday. 1 day out of a week for NA, 2 for others and Japan, it's going to be REALLY hard to see it do 50% of what it did last week, or 33% of what it did the biggest week of the year in just a few days. Now, unless ioi severely undertracked the Wii, and he's not prone to fall out of his typical margins.

Where we stand right now, the Wii _CANNOT_ cover 500k units in 1-2 days. Just not going to happen. If there WAS an issue with undertracking, than yes, it COULD hit 20m that way.

And yes, sorry it was a reading error.  I was looking at the double digit millions of the 360 and Wii and made a mistake.  That makes me believe it'll probably break 9m, and if it has some hot sales early this week, maybe a 9.02 for the 1-2 days. 

Last weeks sales ended Saturday the 29th for NA and Others. Japan is the only region with weeks ending on Sunday.

Dont worry when nintendo reports shipment is when we know how much was sold. I think they report it this sunday at CES.
