The avs need to sign Matt Duchene

Looks like your wish came true.

@spurgeonryan There's already been 2 pretty big trades so far. Jordan Staal to Carolina to play with one of his brothers for a 1st round draft pick and brandon suter as well as a prospect. and today luke schenn went to philly for van Riemsdyk

Nice Kenny. Still hoping for Steve Downie and especially Ryan O'reilly. O'Reilly had a stand out season and deserves a good contract.

Jordan Staal in Carolina only seems good for them as brothers. Good for them.

Roberto Loungo should leave. Rick Nash might ask too much compared to  how much he would help a team. That being said the AVS should sign both, they have the money.

Super Joe aka Joe Sakic is to be inducted into the hockey hall of fame.

Probably my favorite hockey player of all time.

League MVP 2001

Olympics MVP 2006 team Canada

NHL Playoffs MVP 1996

Must give him a tribute video for all the fond memories.

Free agency begins today. Looks like everyone is fighting for Parise

Would love to see Parise end up in the West because I will see him play more. Not on the Wings of course.

Suter might go to Minnessota Kenny, only saying that because he lives in Wisconsin and his agent is in Minnessota. Would be good for you, not me. :-p

I know Minnesota has bid on both. We've already signed 2 goons that I don't care much for.  Only thing is, Suter could get a lot of money out of this FA

It is hARD TO JUDGE WITHOUT KNOWING A TEAMS FINANCIAL situation. I recall Minnessotta usually seems fiscally conservative regarding signing big name players. I think people just suspect Suter would want to be near his home. He is a country boy and all. No idea about Parise, but I suspect he wants big money for sure.

Love the new thread name because I'm pretty sure it'll be just us talking in here till October

That and if AJ_Habfan ever comes back he lives in Vancouver. I think he is a Canucks fan more than he likes to admit.

Have you seen P.A. Parenteau play much for the Islanders? He was supposedly one of the biggest free agents grabbed the first day by any team by the Avs, but I have no clue. Decent right winger I guess that adds age and should help the avs compliment  their already very strong center position.

Also this division is funny because outside of the Alberta teams and the Canucks I never felt the rivalries were very big. So I do not have to tell you to f off every time they play.

So I found this info that shows that the Kings - Devils match-up was horrible for ratings like I thought. I do not know what the numbers are for Canada, but I would suspect them higher than the USA averages. Also, the statement below show how dreadful the support California fans give hockey.

Stanley Cup Final Audience Averages Since 2007 on NBC and NBC Sports Network/VERSUS

2007, Ottawa vs. Anaheim - 1.8 million
2008, Pittsburgh vs. Detroit - 4.5 million
2009, Pittsburgh vs. Detroit - 4.9 million
2010, Philadelphia vs. Chicago - 5.1 million
2011, Boston vs. Vancouver - 4.5 million
2012, Los Angeles vs. New Jersey - 3.0 million

"The Stanley Cup Finals averaged 3.0 million viewers over six telecasts between NBC and the NBC Sports Network, down 33% from the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals and the worst average since 2007 (Ottawa vs. Anaheim), which ironically also featured a California team. The most-watched game of the series was Game 6, which drew 4.93 million viewers."
