Forums - Sony - what went wrong with resistance 3?

I just want to know what went wrong with reistance 3. I just recently beat the game and played alittle bit of multiplayer. Compared to the first 2 games, resistance 3 really is'nt all that great. I loved reistance 1. Alot of people did'nt really care for the second game, but I loved it. The single player in resistance 3 was just so boring and dull. They really did'nt add another new. The main character was dull as hell,I thought the few boss battles the game had were the weakest of the whole series. The locations sucked. Let's see, small deserted town, some underground location, train yard, prision, snowy new york, then you have to have your on rails boat and train set pieces. The ending in this game has been done to death. If this really is the last game in series, what a sad and un-inspiring ending. Let's also try to copy the call of duty multiplayer format. It's like Insomniac games did'nt even try. It's like they lacked ambition and just went bye the numbers and made this game, while going through some checklist. So,am I the only one that was disapointed in this game?

I can understand what you mean by they played it safe going by a checklist because it is a pretty typical FPS.

I disagree entirely. I thought it was the best in the series and one of my favourite FPS this gen. I guess we will agree to disagree.

Insomniac is a very talented dev. They're just not the best at making FPS. That's why I said they shouldn't have made a FPS this gen. They would have saw much more success if they would have made an Action-Adventure game or even a TPS. I even made a thread about it.

Not at all. I really liked the weapon wheel and the leveling system for the guns. The atmosphere was terrifically done, especially after chapter 5 when I was on the edge of my seat for almost the entirety of the remaining game. The graphics/art style was well done. I do admit the protagonist left something to be desired and the MP is just ok. But for single player I stand by my point.

Edit: I have played almost every FPS this gen; Halo 3/ODST/Reach, Killzone 2/3, COD (MW, WAW, MW2, BO), Bulletstorm, Resistance 1/2, Duke Nukem, Battlefield BC 1/2, Borderlands, Fallout 3/New Vegas, Bioshock 1/2, Half Life 2, Rainbow Six Vegas 1/2, GRAW 2, Medal of Honour, Crysis 2, Brink, and many others so I do have exposure

i think adam describes it best. here's a link to my thread gamrConnect Forums - Adam Sessler continues to praise Resistance 3

i  think the only thing that went wrong with Resistance is R2. it just wasn't favored, and the way i hear it the tv bundles for R3 haven't been counted in the sells so the game may be under tracked.

and Ted Price didn't lead the project.

I haven't played the game yet (tried the demo though), and my first thoughts were:

1.- They shouldn't have had Capelli as the main character. Hale was way better.

2.- Still, the game plays and feels great

I'm sure I'll buy it in the future...

Im gonna get it as soon as possible

Wait... does this mean im not human?
