Forums - Gaming - FromSoftware may have been gone to far with Dark Souls ..... There might be something to whine about in regards to Online.

I myself haven't tried the co-op or invading someones world since I've been a hollow the whole time.
PVP is what matters to me.

No no, it isn't a shitty design choice like no pausing and all the others, it is a great feature that makes the game super hard and thus super good!

Amen. I almost feel it would be like cheating if I could import my buddies to help me. It's far more exciting when you are joined by randoms.

I'm with you there.

Demon's Souls is about being alone in a hostile world. The phantoms of other players are meant to be anonymous and possibly not trustworthy. Otherwise they might as well put lobbies in and make it like everything else.

If the anonymity were taken away the experience wouldn't feel so solitary and hence special.

Agree. Couldnt have said it any better.

aahhh i should have Xxplained myself better. i meant why some people cant see the soul sign of each other and stuff (Which
may also be preventing people to coop with strangers if needed, which IS part of the game), not why it isnt primarily possible to coop with a definitive friend.

so yeah, i am very aware of how those games work (*shows proudly his Demons Souls Platnum trophy*), i just did fail in trying to write what i intended to (again). ^^ sorry for the confusion.

And Sorry @ Xxain, but i HAD to do this at least Once.. hope you can forgive me lol. :D

At this point, the game will have hundreds of thousands of people playing online. Supposedly, the game chooses a random selection of people with a low ping to your console to display (no sources for this, just rumours).

Planned PvE and PvP will probably work when the servers get less busy, but it's important to remember that neither is part of the game design, nor was it part of the design in DeS.

This is true.  Xxain, when we played Demon's Souls, the asian version had already been out for awhile, and we never saw more than a handful of soulsigns on the ground at a time.  There are probably over a hundred thousand people playing Demon's Souls in the West right now, so it may be hard for us to find each other.
