Haha. The DS platinum wasn't very hard except for the world tendency stuff which made me play offline. This one seems harder to me in the sense that you have to do a bunch of convenant stuff that requires invading or helping people out, both of which I'm not used to. But, this doesn't have the pure blade stone farming that took forever and the geckos respawn........

Ok, you're right, it is easier.

Well the geckos respawn only in a certain location, most are one time affairs only, though their counter doesn't decrease if they manage to escape. And yes, while there's no necessary Bladestone farming required to get weapon trophies, there's also Titanite Slab and Twinkling Titanite farming if you want to get the most out of your equipment.

But yeah, Demon's Souls was harder to platinum, but not harder to play. In fact, as I'm replaying it now, I'm finding it much, much easier, and it has been almost two years since I last played it.

Which ever you need!

@encodednybble Yes I know I'm right!

Sigh....add me to the list of unfortunate souls who fell victim to the curse of those fucking frogs, now my HP is halved and I heard the item to remove the curse costs frickin 6000 souls :(

Isn´t there a ring or something you can equip that prevents you from getting cursed?

Pretty much what blkfish92 said, but I would recommend going to the Darkmoon covenant and get over with the 10 souvenir of reprisal needed for +1 and the Darkmoon Talisman.

@JGarret - Oswald of Carim, the NPC at the top of Undead Parish, where you rang the bell, sells Purging Stones for 3K instead of the 6K the undead female merchant is ripping you off. There's no curse prevention items, there's just items to give you better curse resistance, like the Cursebite Ring at the Valley of Drakes/New Londo ruins interlink (you need either the Master Key or the New Londo Ruins key to access that area), and some armours, like Dusk of Oolacile armour (in Darkroot Basin, you'll need to defeat the Hydra and a giant yellow crystal golem for her set to appear) give you a much higher curse resistance (over 150).

There's also a spell that removes curses, but needs 16 Intelligence and you'll need to reach Ingward on New Londo ruins, which will have you traversing through a horde of ghosts which will require a Transient Curse item which are sold by the undead female merchant for 4K. I don't recommend this course of action, especially being cursed.

Just don't PVP via the ring, you'll end up fighting over-powered players most of the times (no level restrictions). If you're serious about PVP with Darkmoon, wait until you reach the final dungeon, Kiln, and you can go wild with the Blue Eye Stone there, since that area is PVP galore.

Yeah the game is more difficult IMO than DS but the trophies seem slight easier since there's not a luck dependence and world tedency requirements.

Yeah, once I farm humanities to finish off my pyromancy, do I just join another covenant (I guess I'll join darkmoon) or do I need to go to Oswalt to leave my convenant?

@lestat Yeah I meant that if you miss the geckos they respawn (under most circumstances) instead of getting only 1 respawn per boss right which was pretty lame because half the time I didn't know what geckos were until it was too late.

You can join other covenants directly, but that will consider you a betrayer of your previous covenant and will get you some sin points (Darkmoon can hunt people with sin points). It's always best to leave via Oswald, unless you don't care about your sin level (plus, some covenant givers will become hostile/indifferent to you, and you can only get back to the covenant by paying an extremely hefty absolution price = SL x 2000).

I missed most of the geckos first times, and some were downright impossible to get at all, like the chamber filled of them in 2-2. Unless you had God's Wrath, it was impossible to get them all, and even with it, some of them managed to escape.
