That's also pretty pricey dude... He's not sure how much he would get for his console....

You have actually done the upgrade; or you have the above mentioned hardware, and are planning to make the change? If you have actually made the switch...no problems with either the 320GB (too big for PS3 to recognize), nor the 7200rpm (too much heat and/or noise)? Lastly; how did you backup your PSN purchased games (or was in necassary to do so at all)? |
I don't think you can back those up. But you can re-download them for free up to 5 times from the download list at the store.

The only problem I ran into was that the screws were very tight in the caddy, and I ended up stripping one of them. Just make sure that the screwdriver you are using is an exact fit or you could end up doing the same. Here is another step-by-step guide to upgrading your PS3
No, 500 gig 2.5" sata hard drives are available now. http://pcmarketusa.com/product_view.aspx?t=&product_ID=10817
Because the same exact thing happened to me may I guess the type of Laptop it was?
Was it a light blue and silver trimmed Dell?
I have a 320GB drive. Works fine.
Also, the instructions for replacing the drive are in the manual.

What are all you guys doing with your 320 gig hard drives? Im not knocking anyone, but I cant imagine filling that much space ever on a PS3.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Well, I've already filled over 100Gb with Music, PSN games and other game installs. Doesn't really take that many HD music videos to use up a lot of space.
@Dgc1808 - PSN downloads, including the paid-for games also get backed up using the backup utility. The only thing I had problems with was losing changes I'd made to MP3 descriptions, though it kept all the MP3's themselves.
i've filled it with ALL my video files...over 700 anime, movie and tv episodes...plus game installs...still have about 70gb left :)
