I stated last week in a thread that it will be remade with the tools used for FF XIII because the similarities. It makes perfect sense.

I'm not looking forward to FFXIII-2 so a X remake is exciting news for me.

I swear, I spent more time playing blitzball then the actual game. Really was one of the better mini games in an RPG.

I'm more interested to see how my Sphera sweetheart Yuna's gonna look like. ... oh, and Rikku's slutty, hot look.

^ If they change the battle system to something like XIII, I'm going to be so disappointed.
FF X-2 had extremely awesome active battle system that maintained control over all characters simultaneously. So I wouldn't mind a change in battle if it leaned towards X-2 ( contrary to general opinion I loved FF X-2).

gah if SE waters down the fighting system ... grrrr
