Previously, it was known that Atlus was going to shut down the Demon's Souls servers in October (most likely because of the release of Dark Souls), but it seems they are extending the server support into 2012!
Atlus today announced that the company will be extending the online server support for Demon's Souls (again). The game, which features multiplayer-esque online features, will see online support into 2012.
Demon's Souls continues to be one of the highest praised PlayStation 3 exclusives to date – and with good reason. This isn't the first time that Atlus has decided to extend support for Demon's Souls, but it may be the last.
"Our commitment to the game and the fans that turned it into an incredible success remains as strong as ever. While the reality is that one day the servers will ultimately close due to operation and maintenance costs, that day is not today, nor will it be this year.” said Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales at ATLUS.
Atlus has also announced plans for Pure White and Pure Black World Tendency events during the holiday season.
Fans of Demon's Souls will be glad to note that Dark Souls will be releasing on October 4 in North America, and October 7 in Europe.
