I've been trying to use Force powers for years. I know it won't happen but that doesn't mean I can't have fun with it, and that's from movies. Surely it's a form of day dreaming.

Although putting certain actions to real life situations might be done with comedic effect not having an ill effect on the person.

Am I the only one who wants this to happen to me?

“These are my principles; if you don’t like them, I have others.” – Groucho Marx

It's not so much the source that causes that (TV, games, ect) it's the person who plays it.

I'll have to remember to check out this journal article and see if this article is accurate to what the report is.

It seems... off. I mean, life bars over peoples heads and in game menus?

I mean, that just sounds like schizophrenia taking the form of something gaming related, but someone wanting to roll with it, just so they can make a name for themselves for discovering a "new" phenomena.

I mean... outside that, that just sounds... normal.

I mean, if you know someone who's really into history, they relate EVERYTHING to some historical story.

Biologists explain things as if everything was related to biology.

I mean, it's just like... salience.

So, does that mean that people who work in the porn industry see everything connected to porn?

Everything we come into contact with has an effect on us whether it's the people we choose to surround ourselves with or the tv we watch, books we read even the art we look at. The more time we spend with one select group the more it will influence us. That is life.
I have often had the urge to mount the pavement and mow down hordes of people or drive full speed into the car stopped at the traffic lights but fortunately my own sense of identity has prevented me from doing htis.

Not all people are equal. I can totally see, that a selected few can get this type of "visions". Even I have those "visions" sometimes. However they only occur after extreme gaming sessions and I only have them in dreams. For instance after an intense session of Xenoblade I started to see Exclamation Marks (!) over the heads of people in my dream. (Exclamation Marks are used to show that a NPC has a Mission for you in Xenoblade.)
