I put that you missed good options.

The future of gaming will be the same as the present or the past of gaming. Most people will buy the games that are the most fun to play. This may or may not include a gimmick like motion controls or 3D virtual reality.

I'll use motion controlled gaming from the past as an example:

Wii Sports is a fun game.
Dragon Blade: Wrath Of Fire is not.

Basically what I'm saying is that modern tech will always play a part in gaming, but gaming isn't limited to it. How else could you explain the popularity of old school 2D platformers? It has to be fun. Gaming is supposed to be fun.

will according to AMD we will be playing with Avatar quality graphics, so since to product 1 frame of Avatar involved 80,000 processors and 1000 TB of Ram and still took a few hours per shot we will be looking at consoles that will cost around 10-20 million, consist of around 500,000 processors and 10,000 TB of ram to power our avatar quality game which will for artists to create be around a 10 minute video with a quick time event even after 5 years of development.

Hopefully you house has room for a server farm people, if not start clearing that garage now.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
