My main question is -

So if I have a HDMI 1.4 cable and after updating PS3 firmware which supports 3D too, can I play 3D PS3 games in 3D mode with just a normal HDTV?

Or do I still need to buy a 3DTV?

Believe it or not I know alot of people that ask these types of questions regarding 3D viewing, including my dad. Not too long ago our DirecTV receiver updated itself with the latest firmware, and when it was done it displayed a message saying the receiver was now "3D-ready".

Naturally of course, my dad thought this meant we could watch 3D on our existing HDTV without the need to upgrade to one of those expensive 3D ones lol.

Or u could try using a kaleidoscope! Then it would have even more images on the tv. :)

But on topic yes u need a 3D TV.
