It has its own game compatibility (games made for it are only compatible with it or future platforms), a new internal hardware architecture in terms of CPU, Memory and Graphics card, it has a whole new API. Pretty much this in my opinion...I haven't seen enough to make me say wow this is truly a Next-Gen experience, from the Wii U....the graphics are PS3 and 360 levels and to me the tablet interface just makes me feel as if Nintendo just decided to turn the DS into a console.
