As many of you know, developer Just Add Water is working on a high-definition remaster of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath that they want to release on Xbox 360. Their preferred method of delivery is through Xbox Live Arcade, but they have also stated that they are willing to take the Games on Demand route. Thus far, Microsoft has stymied all of Just Add Water’s efforts to release the game on their console…

 Just Add Water is now taking things to the next level by calling on fans to sign a petition in support of bringing theOddworld franchise to the Xbox 360. By doing so, Just Add Water hopes that Microsoft will “give in” to the power of numbers, and scores of rabid fans waving digital dollars in the air. Beyond the remaster of Stranger’s Wrath, Just Add Water has also announced that they’re working on HD conversions of both Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee andOddworld: Abe’s Exoddus which they have also stated they want to release on Xbox 360. We very well may be looking at three potential XBLA titles here. Oddworld fans, now is your time to rise up and demand that the franchise see release on 360!

Why would MS try and keep a game off of XBLA?

i dont get it either, it makes no sense. Especially since its coming to PSN. You'd think they want in on this, now that i think of it, where the hell is Back to the Future on XBL, jesus christ, its even going to Wii (through retail)

I have to say some of their choice are just downright stupid.

I believe its because they have the rule that any game coming to XBLA has to come to it first before its competitors' platforms or exactly at the same time. I think the game already came out on steam last year and now its coming to PSN as well.

I will be getting this either way since I will be picking up PSN but, still this is really dumb on MS part..

The reason why this is being stopped from coming onto MS live is : 2 GB limit.

2011 and they have this limit still.

And if the game has already released onto the PS3, then there's also the parity thingy of XBLA. Hopefully this goes through MS's head and they change their policies.

I'm not saying microsofts policy's are good (they aren't imo). But I'm sure the developer new M$ terms ahead of time and they still acted accordingly.

I don't think this petition is going to work.

Me neither, the little boy in me is saying yay another PS exclusive, but the mature one is saying thats screwed up that gamers are being denied a game for no good reason

you may wish to inform the games over that, that they shouldnt be on the service then.  

and its not likely any of these would even be larger than that.
