Forums - Microsoft - Dead Island suffering from a epidemic.

That is right the game is suffering from a outbreak of apocalyptic proportions. Characters are locking up, and freezing players out left and right. Not only can I say this from my own personal experience in that my level 39 character is now lost to me, but as I watched today three of my online friends also fell victim to this bug. Not only will it not let you load that character you may have pumped upwards of sixty hours into. Even trying to do so will lock your system up dead in its tracks. The affliction is a game breaking bug. Given the horror stories of PS3/PC owners in regards to this game. It isn't at all likely that these characters will be restored. Which is probably going to lead to a horde of outraged gamers with axes to grind, and not in a good way.

The moral of the story is this. If you haven't played the game for the past couple of days. You are better off not playing the game lest you tempt the wrath of this pernicious bug. Sadly if your reading this you are either a victim like myself, or are finished with the game. That doesn't mean you cannot spread the word to your friends. Save them the soul crushing frustration of watching weeks of work get flushed down the drain. This isn't so much a game breaking bug as you can always start over, but it is very much a game ending bug. Right now for me it is game ending. I want to play, but if my character cannot be resurrected I simply lack the heart to go through it all over again, and for those thinking about buying this game, and if what I just wrote hasn't discouraged you in the least. Then I suggest that you wait a couple weeks to pick it up used as this bug is going to fill the bargain bins quickly.

Now if you will excuse me I have a very nasty letter to go right.

wow and i was just thinking about getting this game.

Man I hope the patch comes soon.

I heard from many people it had glitches near release but their was a patch released a week or so ago to fix many of the problems.

Ya, know -and thanks for the heads up- the screen tearing, freezing and overall buggy performance of this game has turned me off. And it's the reason I haven't touched the game in days. I thought I could put up with it but I was wrong. What really put the dagger in me ever thinking of finishing the game was after the so-called patch was downloaded to my PS3, I lost all my achievement tracking, all my weapons. People literally disappeared in my game. I can hear them coughing but they're nowhere to be seen.

Honestly, the game was running better before the patch.

Only it didn't fix anything, it made things worse.

I've thought with the 3 or 4 hours I've put into the game it is sorta buggy (It is as if it lags really bad at times), but the gameplay is still enjoyable enough for me to at least attempt to continue playing it.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Wow that really doesn't bode well :/

If everything goes as planned I will have the game by the middle of October. I just hope they can fix most of the problems by then.
