We have 18.07 for GTAIV excluding Americas and japan sales of the PC game, so likely tracked quite well, certainly not a 10 million seller on 360 or  PS3 either

Bioshock we have 6.81, so again, likely undertracked on the PC.

Can't simply compare VGC data to shipments, because VGChartz doesn't track PC sales very well most the time.

The Darkness only sold a million across ps360 and is getting a sequal?

Yeah and it will release this year I think. No one talks about it. Will not sell many copies.

the game got pushed back, which is probably why people stopped talking about it

At a recent presentation at ThinkEquity's annual Growth conference, which Gamasutra listened in on, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed updated sales numbers for many of the publisher's key games and franchises, including over 22 million lifetime shipments for April 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV.

The new number represents an increase from the 20 million shipped units of GTAIV reported in March, and puts the latest title in the series on par with the 21.5 million shipments Take-Two reported for the PS2's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas through early 2008.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise as a whole has now shipped more than 114 million units since its debut in 1997, Zelnick said.

Take-Two also reported new lifetime unit shipment numbers for other recent titles and key franchises, including:

* Midnight Club franchise: 18.5 million
* NBA2K franchise: 17 million
* Red Dead Redemption: 12.5 million
* Civilization franchise: 11 million
* BioShock franchise: 9 million
* Carnival Games franchise: 8 million
* Max Payne franchise: 7.5 million
* Mafia franchise: 5 million
* Borderlands franchise: 4.5 million
* The Darkness: 1 million

Elsewhere in the talk, Zelnick outlined how downloadable content has been a key tool for limiting quick used sales of new titles, and a way to quickly build on existing games with content that meets market demands.

"Once we do the core development, which takes a long time and is pretty hard, doing the development related to the DLC in a high-quality way is a lot easier and a lot quicker," Zelnick said.

"At the time we put out Red Dead Redemption in May, we didn't even have a fantasy that we'd be putting out a zombie title [the Undead Nightmare DLC] for Halloween. But we [did], as it happens.

We have 18.07 for GTAIV, so likely undertracked and a 10 million seller on 360 and maybe PS3 as well??

Bioshock we have 6.81, so again, likely undertracked.

Red Dead we have 9.83

GTA shipment is probably 10 million on PS3 and 10 million on 360, 2 million on PC. Remember before the PC release and the announcement that the DLC were coming to other platforms, the shipment split was 50/50 according to T2.

Bioshock 1 is probably a million seller on PS3 now.

RDR likely undertracked. 5.5 PS3, 5.5 360

you should read the earlier posts about how DLC is counted as the sale numbers for GTA4 and RDR.

So I should belive some folks' assumptions instead of going by the word on the article/PR? You can take some random poster's assumptions, but I will take T2's word.

Maybe because some folks actually read Take 2's Q1 FY2012 financial report?

-- Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption franchise has sold-in over 11 million units worldwide since launching in May 2010, including over 2 million units of the Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare standalone disc.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

That wasn't in the article, but

1) The number in the article says 12.5 million, and the one in  your link 11 million. 2 million for DLC, 10.5 million for RDR main game, still undertracked.

2) Assuming that that's the same for GTA numbers is not only poor logic, but a major jump to a likely wrong conclusion.

Wouldn't it also be poor logic assuming the GTA number does not contain DLC numbers? In reality, you don't know that either.
