hmmmm.

I don't know anything about the dramas happened between staff members, its not my place to say who's right and who's wrong, but that Gamejournos site looks like its ran by a nutjob. its decorated by viciously sentenced insults and sarcasm on the front page, yet it claims to be fighting against unprofessional journalism??

also I may be reading this wrong, but to me it seems only the first article was actually about "journalism", the 2nd one was just a follow up with more insults; the last two were about disputes between employees and the employer, which had nothing to to with journalism itself.

they claim to "call out" on unprofessional journalism, yet they wrote their articles entirely based on the story of one party without hearing the other one out, which was not a professional attitude to begin with, the writings were inflammatory, and the last two articles didn't even have anything to do with journalism, its almost as if they're on a mission to badmouth VGC and will use any ammunition they can find.

to me they're like these turning a road accident into a national scandal via blogging kind of people.

also kowen makes a good point, what happened was understandable, but now you've explained it and everyone knows what really happened, more clarifications will be needed in the future to let the readers know where the reviewers really stand.

It is our free choice to decide what we do or don't cover. That is a totally different scenario to writing a review or an article and being paid to say good things about it which is clearly unethical and misleading to the readers and something we have never and never will engage in. If you see a site putting up an early review (big games are normally embargoed) and giving it a glowing score then they are normally the ones doing the dodgy deals.

This explains it, sorry I didn't understand it clearly first time, I was a little dazzled after spending half a hour reading through everything.

So VGC writers integreities were never in question, it was about not covering bad things other people say about the games during an ad take over, and the guy was not happy about it.

Doesn't sound so serious to me, I don't know why he would feel that way, but it further proves that these Gamejourno people are the ones that lack professionalism for writing these one sided inflammatory articles.

its obviously nothing to do with me,but i'm not sure you need to explain/justify yourself via the threads over employee issues,of course its interesting to read but like doing the dirty washing out in public

Disgruntled ex-employees happen. When you have this many of them you have to wonder though.
