It's very likely that Nintendo moneyhatted Capcom for time-exlusive, similar to how MHTri.
Expect to see MH4Enhanced on other platforms in 2 to 3 years after the 3DS release.

by that time everyone who wanted to buy MH4 already have bought it.

I think we should wait until MH3G comes out before making a statement like that. The eventual Vita version will probably be better, so that may change people's minds about the 3DS version.

If there is one in the works...I know it's a good posibility but for now all we know is that it is ONLY on the 3DS at the moment and forseeable future.  Anyways, I love your avatar with the Wiimote and Move...but why no Kinect?  So that's my 2 cents...I think Nintendo did a major body blow to Sony's Vita even before Vita is able to come out with this MH4 announcement.  Not to mention they released a whole slew of games (esp FE) that should boost hardware sales in that region.  The add-on was actually not as much of a downer as I would have thought it could be as well...my opinion of course.

If the Vita takes off in Japan (you are right about all of those 3DS games, so it probably won't) then I don't see why Capcom would pass up on the business opportunity, unless Nintendo moneyhatted MH4.

Kinect isn't in my avatar because I got it off of Google images.

You are right about Nintendo hurting the Vita. Nintendo beat them to the punch. The Vita probably won't take off in Japan as good as it could have. If anything, it will ride the coattails of  the PSP and PS3 until Sony secures a good exclusive.

I agree completely.  Though, I think the MH4 announcement is not a mortal blow to the Vita; it is serious enough to give Sony complications in the future. In addition to a revitalized 3DS; the Vita will have to deal with upcoming smartphones and tablets (new iPhone is suppose to come out around winter or early next year) which competes with the Vita more in terms of capabilities.  There is also the cost issue being that Nintendo's 3DS is still making a small profit or breaking even despite it's recent price cut (the 3DS is suppose to cost $100 to manufacture before March 2011 it could have gone done since then?  http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2011/03/3ds-manufacturing-cost). Also Sony  is being gunshy to sell a system at a loss after the PS3 debacle therefore probably selling the Vita at a very negligble profit or break even point to compete with the 3DS.

ROTFLMFAO.
This is all I have to say about this thread.

The best explanation is that IT IS COMING to VITA! In fact, they made Nintendo use that ugly peripheral because it was designed with VITA in mind and Nintendo wanted in.

there is another sony conference tonight so we might still see it. but at this point looks like nintendo will have it exclusively for a while

ahuahuahuahuahuahuahuahuahua

I can't figure if the technical problem is that ol(e)d screen in Vita or the lack of the gimmicky pointless 3D...

I heard rumors about the real problem... dunno...

On a serious note, I don't know why is to hard to believe that Mh4 is exclusive for 3DS. MHtri was for Wii, so MH4 instead of being for Wii (which will be dead when 4 is released) is for 3DS now that the franchise is more popular on handheld. That is a logical move. And doesn't mean Vita won't get MHP4 or something.

Also, I can see MH4G being on a Nintendo platform in 4-5 years or so.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Obviously because Nintendo HAD to secure this exclusivity.

What the fuck is this shit?

It wasn't shown, surprisingly.
