is no one paying attention to the line above the 26 games that says "Launch" and then the other 74 that says "in development" ? I think not.
Also, majority of those games look like New IPs/entries (Majority without names because if they were apart of a series they would be like "SMT game"). Yes, a large sum of them are "Ports" if you will of PS3 games but not like FFTactices WOTL on PSP or Orcarina of time on 3DS. These are not old titles trying to relive the lime light and cash in on sales and popularity. They will be day and date with console versions for the most part and should be treated like any other Multiplat game except that they have the bonus benefit of being portable. THIS is a good thing.
As for the ones that are, FFX and Persona 4 are great HD ports to have, can't wait for both and the fact that they exist isn't a bad thing either. I know many want to jump down Sony fan's throats due to all the ridicule about Orcarina and 3DS ports of games from yester year but the fact of the matter is these games are good. Do we want new IPs? sure, but not gonna deny the selling power of titles like these. Most will end up picking it up regardless of the "Oh, I'm sick of ports" propaganda. The reason it was used against the 3DS was the same reason that it was used against the PSP, fanboy bullshit.
Now on a more positive, very excited for quite a few of these games but over all this was a mediocre showing. They pulled a Nintendo WiiU E32011 with not showing any gameplay reels of what they supposedly have in dev. Maybe it is a japanese thing but Americans like to SEE what they are buying. Maybe I missed this during the presentation or something.
The Vita runs pretty smoothly. few small hiccups during the show but nothing major. Most touch devices are a bit..."touchy". I have to use an iPad at work and it can be temperamental at times but works efficiently enough.
Not too many games added to the list that I want unfortunately. Luckily the list was already pretty filled with...
-SuperStardust Delta
-Uncharted Golden Abyss
-Gravity Daze
-Persona 4
-Sound Shapes
-Modnation Racers
-LBP Vita
-SmartAs
and now...
-Final Fantasy X
-Zone of the Enders
I am hoping that FFX has transfarring and that both PS3 and Vita versions are bundled together. maybe 30 bucks for just PS3 version + additional 10 for Vita version. Very surprised this was not a collection but seeing as these are pretty big games and of what I am asking of them with dual games, i understand why not.
Hoping many of the in Dev game are ready around the US release. Mainly SS Delta and Gravity Daze. I know the main reason to have only a few games available at launch is that scarcity forces ppl to experiment with new IPs instead of just sticking to what they are used to, as well as gives the sales of each game room to breath.
