Forums - Gaming - Red Dead Redemption is getting a GOTY edition.

Red Dead Redemption is going to be getting a GOTY edition, Rockstar has confirmed. The good news is that the game is coming out next month, on October 11 in the US and October 14 in Europe, on the PS3 and 360. The GOTY edition will have the following:

-Original Red Dead Redemption game with a brand-new hardcore single-player mode.
-Undead Nightmare single-player campaign and multiplayer modes.
-Legends and Killers Pack, featuring additional multiplayer map locations, multiplayer characters, and the Tomahawk projectile weapon.
-Liars and Cheats Pack, including the Stronghold multiplayer competitive mode, Free Roam gambling games, multiplayer horse races with combat, and the Explosive Rifle.
-Hunting and Trading Outfits Pack, featuring two outfits with corresponding gameplay challenges for John Marston.
-Outlaws To The End Co-Op Mission Pack, including six co-op missions for up to four players.
-All original pre-order content, including the Deadly Assassin Outfit, War Horse, and Golden Guns Weapon Pack.
-Solomon’s Folly single-player gang hideout and challenges available for the first time on Xbox 360.
-Just-released Myths and Mavericks Bonus Pack, featuring fan-favorite multiplayer characters and all-new locations to battle in.

This is great news for people who haven't bought the game, or haven't gotten all the DLC. Of course, I did just buy the game not too long ago, and got the DLC when it was on sale on PSN.

My main concern was the story. I'm done with that (I'll play Undead Nightmare when I get bored) so this is a no-go for me. It's one hell of a value for newcomers, though. I hope it's cheap because the regular RDR and UDN are selling pretty cheap, these days. Anybody that didn't pick up RDR for $25 probably won't pick up this GotY Edition for $50-$60......

Yeah, I picked up RDR for $30 new on Amazon a month or so ago, then picked up the digital copies of the three main DLCs for $5 a piece when they were on sale on PSN, so I spent a total of $45 for the whole package. The Outlaws to the End and Myths and Mavericks packs are free, so that doesn't really add any money to the package.

I just bought Red Dead for the X360 a few weeks ago.

Is everything on the disk? thats a deal breaker if not.

Good news for me. Sadly, I still haven't played the game, but I've been meaning to pick it up.

If it's anything like the GTAIV Complete Edition, it will install the DLCs onto your hard drive on the PS3.

Great news, also not surprising. A little late though.
