So, all you VGChartz members who are interested in American politics did you watch the Republican debate? What was your thoughts on how it went, and do you have any comments about it?

Didn't get to watch much of it.
Yet again, Gary Johnson got screwed out of attending while lesser candidates like Huntsman were in.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
just bumping the thread so others can see it and join in the conversation. somebody quote me when things start sparking as i didn't have a chance to see it.
i've been watching porn lol.
In more relevant news. September 7th marked the 15th anniversary of Tupac Shakur's shooting death. RIP Tupac.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
I've only been reading the analysis, but they seem to run with what PDF stated: Romney was cool under pressure, Perry was over-aggressive, Bachmann begins her spiral into irrelevancy

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
I thinik I would agree with some of the comments here. Bachman really isn't pulling any more support than she already has. I don't think she is in the front running anymore. Romney stayed on target with his points. Perry went on the attack with certain policies and view points. Some of the other candidates had some good moments like Paul, Cain, and Santorum. I liked a lot of what Paul had to say, but I don't really see a scenario where he gets in front runner contention at this point. I like his views on the role of government, but there are a couple stances I don't agree with him on. As far as government's role in society though he is spot on in my opinion. I think it will mainly be between Romney and Perry with maybe a third candidate hanging on in the end. I see the third candidate being likely either Paul, Huntsman, or maybe Cain. One of those 3. I think Paul may be the most likely. I don't think Newt, Santorum, and Bachman will last much longer. In the debate Newt seemed to be one of the most informed on policies and on where he stands with his plans, however his past experiences with the public eye will keep him from going any further than he already has.

considering i don't think any of the republican candidates are worth the time or work put into there campaigns i'd say this is better news but try to keep your post more relavent to the op next time.
you don't want someone saying your trying to derail the thread.
I didn't catch it.
Largely because I don't care....
Mostly I care about the economy, and no matter who wins it seems like the two big choices to job creation and economic growth are.
A) Increase government spending that won't result in jobs being created, just like the last stimulus and QE2, because everyone knows it's temporary, those who are hired won't spend their money because they know they'll all be unemployed in a year or two when the "job stimulus" money runs out.
B) Cut business taxes which will result in some few jobs being created but won't create many permanent jobs because the tax cuts are only temporary... so we'll probably end up with 70-80% of the people who get jobs then end up without them.
C) Both, which is just like A&B, except runs up the deficit even more, which is the exact opposite of what we need.
With noone actually addressing the huge structural problems with the economy.

I paid attention. They are a scary bunch except for Huntsman. Perry seems a dumber Dubya. Bachmann is a joke. Romney says blows back and forth in the wind. They have no new policies for the economy except lets do more of what Dubya did. Our countries badly needs investment in the country and the GOP just wont do that. They will only invest in thier rich friends and tell everyone else soon you will be one of these people as well.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
| PDF said: Bachman is out of the race. She looks weak and is becoming a 3rd tier candidate. Romney looked strong not being rattled by new front Runner Perry. Perry on the other hand came out swinging not something you normally see from a front runner. Newt had some strong moments but he really has no shot. Santorum is out. Huntsman just hangs on. |
How likely is Ron Paul to be the republican candidate? I'm Canadian so I don't know how it works really but I'm a big fan of him.
