Ok so who plays those god forsaken annoying ads that get randomly placed around websites, even here at VGChartz. I've slowly found myself having to complete them, and then just clicking away the pop-up if my blocker doesn't get it/isn't on. I don't even know why, I've seen them all before "beat this guy at pull-ups" "Dunk this guy" or of course "Shave Britney!".

Oh and what the hell is with that mosquito ad, in which you have to shock it with some kind of cattleprod. As soon as you load the page and the ad is anywhere on it, you hear the buzzing of the mosquito.  And it never goes away unless you reload the page, kill the flying annoyance or turn your speakers down.

Discuss!

Oh and in the thread title, every word had a capital letter, I know.  I did that because I'm awesome.

Around the Network

Punch teh monkey and win!!!

i actually have played these things and deliberately gotten just barely shy of winning that way they can't navigate me to their homepage. :P

Actually, teh ones I find most hilarious are the quiz ones "who does this kid grow up to be" and it doesn't matter who you pick, you still get redirected, and not only that, they never tell you if you were right or not, or even what teh right answer is.

Firefox + Adblock + NoScript invisibly (after a learning period of a week) and permenantly block all adverts anywhere. I have not seen a single advert on VG Chartz when I turn on of that on (I usually have it off because I'm conscientious, but those adverts in particular really annoy me).

Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

I've never thought that I needed the Adblock plugin since I'm tolerant enough about website-banners.
But VGChartz crossed my mental limit, and I've installed adblock to protect myself from a F***ingIrritatingFlashBanner Overdose

I guess the worst ads are regional? The only one with any sound I ever got was the Trauma Center one (only when I accidently places my cursor on it), and I've never had a single pop-up here. The "do 20 pushups before black dude!" ones were seriously annoying, but I managed to ignore them pretty well.
