Wow, I didn't know the Europeans were getting it packed in. I just assumed they were getting shafted on that one (like everything else).

You learn something new every day...

Oh yeah, but £180 = $360, so we still get ripped off in some way.

Even though the dollar is REEEEEALLLLYY low right now the Wii costs over $420 in Sweden (That's if you directly exchange the currecies). That's a rip off.

You can get it for 2390SEK which translates roughly to the price paid in the UK.

Not when it first came out.

I'm sure you can get it for less in the UK aswell.

I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would get excited over the sales of a bundled-game. It makes no sense at all.

People seem excited about the sales of Motorstorm and resistence, which never approach the attach rate of Wii Sports when all of those games are sold stand-alone.

Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are all doing pack-ins. And all of the pack-in games are being counted as sales, as they should be. If those companies want to include a game with their consoles what is the harm in it? It's good for everyone.

Thats the interesting thing. People don't seem excited about the sales of other bundled games. I can barely recall a single thread about the "incredible" bundled sales of Motorstorm and Resistance, or even the sales of Forza 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. It appears to be only Nintendo fans who get excited by "incredible" bundled sales.

Bundled sales however just are not that interesting, regardless of the system. Everyone knows that Wii Sports will end up the number one games unless one or both of two things happen, a) it stops being bundled; or b) the Wii stops selling. Why would anyone get excited over sales when its basically pre-determined?

That's a joke right? I mean in July kind of time you could get a Wii from Amazon for £179.98, a whole 1penny saving. The past few weeks you would be lucky to find it for less than £250, or $500. As for anyone still arguing about taking Wii sports out of that list, please for f*%# sake read my original post. @picko. I agree, there is nothing to get excited about, it's sales are mainly determined by how many Wiis sell [Japan stopping it being totally determined] but that still has nothing to do with the list... Wii sports has as much right in that list as all the other games.

Let me clear this up. Wii Sports isn't packed in with the Wii, the Wii is packed in with Wii Sports.

I agree, I certainly bought mine just for Wii Sports. There weren't really any other games that interested me released at the time I bought it. That doesn't mean I haven't bought other games since (I've bought lots.) but if Wii Sports didn't exist I wouldn't have bought a Wii, and neither would most of the other people who have done so. I'd probably still be in the 6th gen waiting for more decent games and price cuts before deciding on a system.

Last week Wii Sports became the 7th best selling game of all time.

^It'll become the first before 2009

The Wii would not be where it is today without WiiSports being a packin... WiiSports IS what sell the console to most people. If it were not for Wii Sports the Viral Marketing would not be taking hold like it is.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

I was ripped off because I live in Brazil and here the taxes are damn too high so I´ve paid U$800,00 on my Wii. :(

100% Coritiba Foot Ball Club!

Wii Sports is a bunch of mini sports games for people to pass time before they get a real game.
Also you should not count packaged games as top sale games.

If Wii sports was sitting on a shelf next to the Wii (not combined) when it was released you would have never heard of it.

It's common sense.
