That's not true at all. That is not applicable to any of the traditions of India. Different practices have different results.

I am not practicing at the moment, but I stayed in a Vaisnava monastary for 3 years (half of that time in India).

It's possible I am wrong about that but they imply it to say the least... how could they say: it's like this but the other beliefs are right too!, that makes no sense...

Going to heaven and getting to heaven sounds more and more like slavery as I think about.

You must not do this, you must not do that. When your life is over, you will go to Heaven for all eternity where can't indulge on earthly freedoms like drinking, polyamorous sex and such.

Seriously; God if you're out, send me to Hell or Limbo, Heaven sounds subjectively lame to me.

Well obviously I said sky because heaven is often depicted as clouds and I said he was invisible because he said you can not make sculptures of him as he will have no face in some of his commandments.

I really hope you understood that by me saying 'an invisible man in the sky' I just ment god in general.. not exactly that picture...

The church sold spots for heaven to murderers and torturers for money, they let you confess your sins and if you make a nice deposit your sins are forgiven, priests are molesting little boys all over the world.

 

Religion is nothing... not even your high priests believe in god because surely that would stop them from molesting children.

 

Yes i know it's a sensitive issue.. but religion needs to die off as quickly as possible... Embrace logic instead of gibberish.

 

while i was watching my mom die of cancer, i observed her pray alot and put alot of faith in God. you and me dont beleive in such things, but it help her deal with her illness and avoid crushing depression.....so yeah religion is totally useless.

i dont belive in god, but i dont spend my time trying to convince others that the concept is stupid and needs to die off. quit it with the baseless hatred. your are otherwise no better than those religious people who hate on those who arent.

I hate the religion itself.. not the people that practice it..

 

and no I will not stop hating any religion on this earth (with the exception of Buddhism) because all of them are reponsible for millions of deaths and hatred all over the world today.

I hardly believed something unlikely... I like to think things trough and I have NEVER seen anything supernatural so I see absolutely NO reason why I would believe in it.

And when you do speak of religion, it's all about the corrupt, the perverse and the war waging, mass genocide inducing extremes that you cite... far different from people just having their own personal belief system.  Whether it's true or not, you telling them that they're stupid and clueless for their harmless beliefs is no different than the people you "claim" to be above telling you that you're clueless for not adhering to their beliefs.

Fine then, to answer your original question "how do you explain consciousness"

 

I believe this fully done in the brain where we have different area's and some of these area's enable us to question and learn things, I wish people used that more often. Electrones and pulses go trough our brain and nerve system and we are developed enough to have consciousness.

As I said before, I do not know all the answers to life, but why seek answers to that you can't answer... how would an answer truly help us? it wouldn't... the best thing we can do is to believe what we KNOW, what we can PROVE true so that we can further our knowledge and hopefully further develop our brains.
