Forums - General - Is Fido any good?

Alright so I am about to launch a website and as such I will need to be making tons of calls across Canada. I need to have tons of online access and I need to have a great smart phone package. My buisness partner and I went to all the major carriers here in Canada to try and find out the one that best suits us.

The best deal we are currently getting comes from Fido. However my buisness partner and I have both used Rogers for like 4-5 years. The deal Rogers is offering us sucks in comparison to that of Fido and we are really interested in switching and going with Fido.

But the problem is , its very hard to sign a 3 year contract and one that will cost 160$ a month without knowing for sure that Fido is the best service we can get.

Fido's deal is more expensive then the deal we are getting from Rogers, however we get 3x as many minutes across Canada. We get way better net coverage as well. Lastly Rogers neglected to tell us the final price but Fido told us what it would cost after taxes. The price difference is about 10 dollars and so my buisness partner is very worried that Fido will give us inferior service to Rogers.

So anyone here on Fido or know how good Fido's service is? I really want to know before I sign a three year contract!

Around the Network

have you taken a look at skype?
pretty sure you can get your number connected to it. You won't have to pay an arm and a leg for long distance calls.

I dunno Telus has the same rank with reviews. Rogers actually ranks worse then they do. Infact the highest reviewed company appears to be Koodo, however I was told by Koodo that my phone wouldn't work outside North America. Since my site will be a gaming site and intend to attend TGS and hopefully other gaming conventions and events both nationally and internationally that will not do.

I also know that most people who use these sites and give their own reviews do so because they are upset with their service. You don't hear from the people who enjoyed their service and get honest opinions.

Don't they sell prepaid sim cards that you can simply pop into your phone and use it?
So that you don't have to worry about roaming charges.
