Forums - Gaming - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DLC will be timed exclusive for Xbox 360

Examiner

Microsoft has just announced the following deal with Bethesda Softworks for DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in the same vein as DLC for the Call of Duty series.

On November 11th, Bethesda Game Studios brings us the next installment in The Elder Scrolls franchise with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Xbox LIVE will be the first to bring players the experience of Skyrim’s add-on content in this revolutionized open-world fantasy epic where players can explore any way they choose.

The first two add-on content drops for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be releasing exclusively on Xbox 360, 30 days before it’s available anywhere else.  If you’d like to be the first to break new ground in Skyrim, Xbox LIVE is the only destination that won’t keep you waiting.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launches on November 11 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. This shows Microsoft's continued commitment to DLC exclusive content to entice gamers to purchase multi-platform games on the Xbox 360.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Bah I'm waiting for the retail release of the DLC anyway which I assume will come out on every platform at the same time. That is if it ever comes out. I'd probably buy Skyrim on the 360 if I had one though.

What in the hell will MS even profit from a month long exclusivity of a DLC for a game that's multiplatform??

Depends on how much they paid for it and which fan doesn't know that it's only a month's worth of exclusive.

Seems like a waste since skyrim is going to be what like 70+ hours so one month isn't all that much time to wait.

Announcing DLC before the game is even launched? Ill have fun pirating it.

Ask me about being an elitist jerk

Time for hype

lol. you'd have to expect this from MS. not surprised one bit.

i won't have this game for and estimated 2013 time period while i'd expect to have it in 2015 and i 'd get it on PS3 over the 360(yes i have both).

shows how much i care doesn't?

this timed exclusive deal also pushes the date of purchase back. if the dlc wasn't timed exclusive the purchase date would be closer to the release release date.
