What? i thought 360 got a $50-$100 Price cut?

Nothing official, just big bundles and giftcard deals if I remember correctly.

I remember the Pro Being cut to $250 and the elite to $299 but maybe that was just for a small time.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

The 360 will be #1 in America and nowhere else.

They're not going to outsell the PS3 in Europe this holiday with just bundled games...they need a price cut and even with a price cut I'm not sure they could outsell it (unless it's a big price cut).

Are you sure?

HIGHLY doubt they'll be #1 in Europe.
How much of a lead does the PS3 have over the 360 this year in Europe? It a 1-million lead.......
The only way it can possible beat it the PS3 is with a price cut which is definitely happening sometime this year.

That's Q1, tallies up to 280 - 300k, so for Europe I doubt it's a million.

Does the chart total all European sales, or just the biggest markets?

Forza 4 has had a massive increase in attention in EU largely due to Top Gear being big in Germany, France, Spain and Of course the UK. Also the fact that GT5 disappointed across EU reviewers and forums. So Forza 4 does have a chance to sell some consoles this time.

This is funny. selnor, read the reviews please. Don't just look at the scores. Actually read them.

And then, after you've done it... Block everything you read from your mind and look at Gran Turismo 5's "EMEAA" sales. It's sold, according to VGChartz, over 4 Million units in less than a Year. It's sold only 100,000 units less than EVERY SINGLE Forza game combined in EMEAA.

Outside of America, despite review scores or forum banter, Forza isn't in the same league as Gran Turismo. I wonder how many copies of Forza Microsoft will bundle this Year...

This. And if Forza 4 is really so good and strong, why does it need so much FUD to be spread against GT5?

It really depends, I'm fairly high up with the company but not on the level as the "Big Wigs" so to speak so I pretty much just learn what they tell me. They find out weeks in advance that way we know what to project for sales and also to have a supply stock if any new bundles / hardware are being sent to stores.

Basically I find out depending on when / if they feel its appropriate and required for me to know. In the case of the 3DS I was aware of the impending cut, but not of the PS3 cut that just happened.

As much as I would like to see 360 take #1. I just cant see it without a pricecut.
1. It has been so long that customers now expect it and will simply hold off because with Sony and Nintendo cutting prices the customer will believe 360 price cut is coming.
2. Although I am eagerly looking forward to most of those games. Nearly all of them are sequels to existing 360 games. Just dont think they will move new customers. Forza 3 came with 360s last winter. That could cause more copies of Forza 4 to sell. That doesnt mean new hardware with it.
3. Bundling a lot of software puts off new software sales. Wouldnt it be better to cut $50 from price with no software so the customer purchase software with the hardware. I like the traditional holiday bundle of 2 games, but more than 2 is risky if you ask me.

Out of all the first-party PS3 exclusives released so far this year, none, not a single one, has been a new IP. Would you argue SON¥ has been ineffective in moving hardware?
