Xbox is giving away free Gears 3 related digital downloads by finding hidden COG tags, and then entering them on the newly created website, xboxcogcodes.com.

There are special COG Codes hidden on the Web, in e-mail, videos, blogs, and forums, and even in the real world. Seek out these codes and submit them here to unlock exclusive Gears of War 3 items, including posters, wallpapers, icons, and much more.

Some of the codes will be one-time use, which means once redeemed, it won’t work again. However, we are collecting any codes that work more than once, and currently have 6 codes to share. If you find anymore codes, please share them with us, and we’ll make sure to give proper credit!

But in fact they give you access to eternal life in Nirvana! I still don't know what a CoG is other than something you look for.

Cogs are the soldiers we play in gears of war. They have a Cog tag on them to identify themselves as a Cog soldier, and collecting Cog tags mean collecting dead soldiers' identities. Meaning proof of death.

Thank you for that! So people are just supposed to look for pictures of these soldiers on the web and around your area?

lol no. This is different, I was talking about Cog tags in the game. This is Cog codes on the internet. I am assuming this is some kind of marketing tactic where you can find hidden codes like the ones in OP, in articles, forums etc. I am not sure about that.
