Why would the prosecution/police not have talked to the woman before they filed charges? I'm not commenting on whether I think he's innocent or guilty, but it sounds an awful lot like people were pressured into this decision

The decision to drop the charges or the decision to file the charges in the first place?

Originally I meant the decision to file the charges, but either could be the case really :P

she's filing a civil lawsuit,it's nothing more than a money grab on her part,in my opinion. I think she consented to the so called sexual act, then changed her tune, when she figured out who he was. That's just the way I see it.

Most likely he didn't even make a pass at her. He allegedly had sex with another woman shortly before the so called attempted rape took place. If he really did try to rape her, he must be an amazing example of virility. The guy actually predicted a couple of months before this incident that someone might try to stage a rape to ruin his reputation. Most likely his political opponents.

He's without a doubt a massive slimeball, but they're right to drop the charges. With her credibility issues there is no way they could not have reasonable doubt.
