Chances are high we are going to see the same thing we saw this generation, WiiU out Nov/Dec of 2012 and both MS and Sonys next consoles out Nov/Dec of 2013. So just change the situation between Microsoft and Nintendo for release time and we have the same thing.

they never said they wouldn't come out with something new ,just that theres life left in the old dog at this time.

I believe the NextBox and PS4 will come out in 2014. If by chance the Nextbox comes out in 2013, I don't see Sony rushing to get the PS4 out sooner. No need to rush it, we have all seen what that leads too

Sony at E3 2013 will show the console; and will release it WW Holidays 2013 or in Japan Holidays 2013; and in US/EU Spring 2014. Price at launch 350 - 400 bucks (considering that Sony priced the PSVITA for 250).

M$ at E3 2013 will show the console; and will release it in US/EU in Holiday 2013; in Japan who knows. Price at launch 300 - 350 bucks.

Obviously both Sony and M$ are already really advanced in R&D for the new console tweaking some things here and there; and will enter production by the end of 2012 / beginning 2013.

No later than 2013 for Sony and Microsoft.

My desire to play on the current gen consoles is waning. They can wait all they want, I'll be back on pc for multi platform games. Neither sony or ms are getting any cut from me for deus ex or skyrim.

I guess sony is in a better position to wait since they have a lot more 1st party titles to make money of.
Although why would ms hurry, they make a ton from live fees and I don't think there's a big risk that the core is going to jump over to wiiU. Maybe they're afraid that if ps4 launches first the CoD crowd is going to jump ship?
Loosing the kinect crowd to wiiU is a risk of course.

Yeah I agree with Blacksaber, Nintendo is calling the shots this time. MS feels compelled to launch soon after the wiiU which forces sony to keep pace not to have to play catch up again with crappy 3rd party ports.

I have a hunch that sony is waiting for the next box

I have stood behind 2014 for about 2 years now and I still feel strongly about that. That goes for the next Xbox as well. The 360 and PS3 are still selling well enough and the PS3 in particular still needs to see more profitability before an announced PS4 starts to cannibalize sales.

That being said, what else do you expect from a suit like this to say?
