Hasn't MS learned that prices 500 and above are generally hard to accept. With all that's going on here, the minimum is 600. We know how many consoles sony sold at that price point...

well.. Toshiba just made a 500GB hard drive... so this console would probably use it. lol

I don't know. I guess we'll see what happens, but I'd find it interesting since this rumor says that this new 360 would have all the things that the PS3 was criticized for.
lol, I wonder how much that new hard drive would retail for. $100 for the 20gb and $180 for the 120bg. lol, oh boy.
HD DVD would be a great idea for everyone that doesnt have a xbox 360 but for the people that already bought a xbox 360 would get the F*** by microsoft. If it comes with the HD DVD drive, then later games will come out on both HD DVD and DVD. Everyone that has a old 360 would have to play a game with 2 or more disk.

The Xbox 360 uilimate gets two thumbs down. I got the elite and a HD-DVD add-on. If they would have came with this early i would got that instead. microsoft . you suck
If Toshiba releases this under their own brand, I might be okay with it. It could be a more entertainment-friendly unit geared for techies and Toshiba could eat some of the price of the HD-DVD drive.
If this is another model from Microsoft, meh. Things are already confusing enough and I don't want to see MS trying to push a $500 Xbox (because you know they won't be eating money on the unit like Sony does the PS3).

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/
Microsoft should offer Solid State Drive based HDDs and say they will save money on your electric bill. lol

Both are, of course, fine gaming machines with the best games catalogue in the next-gen field. But come autumn 2008, we reckon both will be rendered obsolete by the Ultimate.

Wow thats not copying PS3 at all. 320gb hard drive? HD DVD built in? Wifi? what will this cost like $800 bucks?
Elite is already $450, so add onto that a built in HD DVD drive (at least $100), wifi, almost triple the hard drive of the elite. You gotta be lookin at at least $750 if this things real.
Won't this force developers to make games in HD DVD? or are they going to make them in DVD still?
If they start making them in HD DVD that will make the Arcade, Premium, and Elite X Boxes obsolete.
I doubt they will be making games on HD DVD for 360, but I'm sure the 720 will have an HD DVD drive. By that time, the cost difference will be very little between HD DVD and DVD. If they did start requiring HD DVD, they would be going in the direction Sega did after the Genesis.
I do hope Toshiba makes a unit, or this one has some quieter fans / DVD drive. The current 360 does bother me with the fan / drive noise compared to the PS3.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
