This is a thread about religion, ripping on poor people is completely off topic.

 

I can understand how people fall into cults but I feel sorry for members of them - the extremely cult like ones such as scientology and Westboro essentially abuse and brainwash their followers.

it also said cultures,some cultures are so low and they don't get with the times and then become poor and crib

Two things. 1) Being poor is not a culture. 2) Culture isn't mentioned in the OP, cults are. Cults are an extreme form of religion.

i didn't take cult as the original meaning but as cultural following

 

even then relgion is also just a culture

 

GOD is one,religion is just a different way of depicting it among different group of people.

also relgions which are blind and create fear of GOD on how to live life and remaining inside a constricted limits of rights like the ones in middle east is also why the community becomes poor as they don't get with time

However, some of the values taught in religion like Sermon on the Mount is pretty useful. It's a shame that very few religious people actually take that to heart and would rather shove Revelations down peoples' throats.

I don't really get the Amish, Mormons, and Scientologists. All these weird American religions. IS there suppose to be someone here who explains them?

I try to be tolerant of religious beliefs, where they aren't being forced upon others, but I just can't bring myself to see Scientologists anything other than criminals or victims of crime, depending on their rank in the cult.

Scientology is as worse as just about every other religion.

i can understand any religion just fine...I just don't agree with what they stand for sometimes, it's never a matter of 'understanding' for me
