Forums - Gaming - Nintendo Will Never Surrender

I agree with the articles message that Nintendo should keep producing their own hardare.

But this sentence is wrong: "Nintendo has no history - none whatsoever - of allowing other companies, rivals, to profit from its IP. ". It's not true. CDI.

CDI, Atari as padib said, actually the predecessor to the Hudson PC Engine had its own version of Super Mario Bros, various PC games in the 90s like "Mario Teaches Typing," as well as a handful of Pokemon endeavors in the past decade

Why do they keep saying Nintendo's model is older? ios model for games is similar to atari's back in the 80's than anything else. The only thing that may keep that from crashing  is that the devices are not dedicated for gaming.

That is a pretty good point.  Atari's model of letting anyone make a game led to the video game crash.  While I see a need to help small time developers; you can't just let everyone produce anything.  The market will become saturated with pure shit then most people will realize that most of the products being offered are sub-par.  While the smartphone market will never lead to a direct crash it still isn't a good business model.  When you have thousands of fart apps you know your market is being saturated by pure shit.
