Forums - General - Noob becomes an official English word

I don't think I've ever used 'noob', even when playing online games. 'New' is a term I use. ("He's new I think"). I was just looking at an article on the BBC about new words. Nearly all of them were words that derived from the internet and were bastardisations of other words.

'Retweet' apparently is now a word, it's a completely made up word on a single website and can't be used in any other instant, that's not good criteria for an official word.

It's like the Oxford English is trying to be hip and cool.

English language used to be cool.

Hmm, pie.
