Really don't feel bad for anyone not expecting to work their asses off in a factory job, it is just a given. Hersheys is not Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory

I agree with Galaki though we need to treat foreign Europeans better because nothing is more of a turn on than a sexy accent. oh yeaaah!

They were not suppose to be made to work in facotries in the first place. Nor in strip clubs either.

The J-1 visa program brings foreign students to the country to work for two months and learn English, and was designed in part to fill seasonal tourism jobs at resorts and seaside towns.

Unless I know that government officials pushed them towards factories and stripping I see it as a result of the students taking whatever jobs they could get. If you know about Hershey, Pennsylvania than you would know its biggest tourist attraction is the factory. I think this is a problem with sending them to that location rather than a more tourist friendly and social atmosphere.

Basically, whoever did it was totally nullifying the point of the experince by sending them there, blame that person.

The sutdents didn't search for the jobs themselves. The jobs were given to them when they arrived. And I doubt many of the students had ever heard of Hershey, Pennsylvenia.

Plus, I doubt that factory working can be considered a 'seasonal tourism job'. Even the commercials and news reports I saw in my country regarding this program suggested that the students would get jobs in hotels or restaurants (as waiters, cleaners etc.).

SApphi your trying to get me to disagree with you when nothing in my second reply suggests I do. Sorry bro, maybe someone else will argue with you.

LOL, sorry, for some reason I thought you were disagreeing with me. BTW, as an American, how do you feel about corporarions, like the one that owns that factory, participating in this program instead of giving those factory jobs to Americans?

I was serious. I like to date European girls. From a perspective of affecting society, I am not against it at all as it helps people from different cultures have better understanding of each other and to hopefully develop mutual respect. They only come here for the short term and there is not an overwhelming amount. It is more of a benifactor for society than a harm.

I was referring to the fact that 'factory worker' cannot really be considered a 'seasonal tourist job', which is the kind of jobs this program was suppose to provide.

The factories should pull out of the service to allow more appropriate tourist jobs to work with the program. Who ever is in charge of setting up the jobs needs to focus more on what the program is designed to do as I said before.
