Am I the only one who thinks this could easily be done with the PSeye? Just saying.

I hope your not serious.

Yes I'm serious. Explain to me why I'm wrong.

Do some research. PSeye has no depth, no extensive voice controls via software, not as extensive tracking software.

I had a paragraph or 2 typed out but then I thought I'd better leave before I'm called a t...

try and pull a lever in 2d, plus yes it's software paired with hardware. Makes the tools better for developers to actually use and implement. It's a better package. Plus the microphone array in the Kinect are much better for actual game play use. It can hear your commands even with a loud music and sounds happening. With new updates, the skeletal tracking is supposed to be able to track individual fingers. Do you think this won't use voice commands?

the ps eye also has an array of 4 mics which allow for tracking sound

furthermore they have been ps eye games released already with proper voice recognition controls... as you said all thats required is mics and software which can be implemented in game

www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TaUsSy-f0Y

finally though i'd think kinect is better equiped for this because of the 3d depth tracking but i wouldn't say i know for certain it isn't possible on ps eye

who cares if its possible on the ps eye!!
we dont know for sure if it can because the game wont be coming out on it, so why speculate?

lol@ps-eye can do anything reply again

The Kinect has an array mic also, but better. Like I was saying Microsoft included all the software for companies to utilize so a said company doesn't have to waste effort on making there own software to utilize it.

Makes it easier to take advantage of the Kinect because it's a complete package and not missing anything.  If the PSeye could do all of this then they would have made it multiplat.  The 3d aspect is one of the most important parts which the eye can not achieve. PSeye (let's take this 2d picture and try to navagate it in this 3d world and try to flick and pull switches will not fly.)

That's just not true at all. AT ALL. Come on, use that brain of yours and leave the bad arguments.

What's not true about that statment, plus is that the only rebutal you got?  Why not comment on PSeye not scanning in 3D and only being 2D. Use your brain, if PSeye could do all of this then why not make the same games.

Not really, PSeye still uses 2d, while Kinect is 3d imaging, very different. Plus the last video uses the glowing ball sticks to make it work and you have to have 2 of them.
