Forums - Politics - Ron Paul being ignore by broadcast news called out by Daily Show...

http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-august-15-2011/indecision-2012---corn-polled-edition---ron-paul---the-top-tier

I found this segment humorous, and a bit shocking at the same time.  Well, maybe I shouldn't be shocked though.

Wow. Who the was that CNN dude? "Hold the Ron Paul stuff." What a tool.

Still, some of it isn't totally out of bounds. Ron Paul came in second in the Ames Straw Poll (whoopty fuck), so people are supposed to treat him as if he has a real chance at winning this thing? (Romney came in 1st in 2007. John McCain? 10th.) The small but vocal Ron Paul contingent at the debate goes wild, ergo the "crowd" went wild? (All of the people sitting behind Bret Baier were going pretty mild.)

The real scandal is that everybody has to pretend to give a shit about Iowa. If you're reading this, Iowa: go fuck yourself. You don't really matter.

Ron Paul is pro-free market but anti-Corporatist. The mass media is owned by Corporations so it's unlikely they will want to be giving him any major support.

Ron Paul always wins straw polls... and debates.

Reason being... Ron Paul whens "effort based" contests.

Ron Paul has a base that cares way more then probably any other politician in the US.

Only problem is, it's a small base... even with the creation of the tea party, since a lot of them had never heard of Paul before hand.

Dear Great Britain

We're terribly sorry, but full episodes and video clips of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart are not available. But please don't send any Red Coats in retaliation at this time, as you CAN get your headlines at Channel 4.

Bah, useless.

I think this is it, for any non-Americans interested - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlhFZFrR8DQ

Part of my posting the original thread is to wonder how the heck the media goes out of its way to do this level of ignoring.  Is it that you have a degree of individuals who have a pet candidate they like or something?  Why the heck would Santorum be brought up in that clips?

Its the same reason they've glossed over Romney since the race started.

The media has a bias, and it is to promote certain candidates. My candidate of choice was and still is Gary Johnson - essentially the governor version of Ron Paul. He got railroaded out of every debate since the 1st one, and almost no one talks about him. Comparatively, I see far more media about other also-rans in the same bracket like Huntsman or Santorum, despite Gary being much more qualified.

The sad, horrible reality is that unless you are a favored son of either party, or have millions of dollars in backing, aka Ross Perot, you stand very little chance of getting attention even if your ideas are right, like Ron Paul's.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Haha! John Stewart is great. It is very strange how they all shrugged Paul off like that.

This guy talks sense

he can still make big time impact if he makes some inspirational speeches that cause mass frenzy and hope which will make massive news atleast over the internet spreading
