It is a hassle! For one example we have water quality, the EPA is constantly upping the ante when it comes to this category. Now they have states trying to get chromium out of the water. Fines are high, and it is costly to be environmentally friendly these days. But in the long run many businesses and people find that things are cheaper once you go green, and I am not just talking about recieving less fines. this is good, yet costly effective the long run.

yea they die first
We don't have to save the planet, it will be here longer than we will. We just need to save ourselves... and yes the neighbors die first.
Who cares about bugs. I hope they all die.
But as for the environment in general I know 2 things we need. More solar/wind power, and hydrogen fuel cell cars. Honda has already released the Clarity hydrogen cell car in test markets so hopefully it goes global before too long.
In the immortal words of Jerry Seinfeld, "I hope they nuke the rainforest just so people stop talking about it". Right now that's how I feel about everything :P
